Jennifer Pence, Founder
Jennifer Pence is a summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Harvard University, where she received an A.B. in Psychology. Her academic interests range from Math, her initial major at Harvard, to Spanish Literature, one of the 11 Advanced Placement tests on which she achieved the highest possible score of 5. In college, she received academic distinctions including the John Harvard Scholarship for Academic Distinction, the Elizabeth Carey Agassiz Scholarship for Academic Merit, and the Harvard College Research Grant for her senior thesis. Jennifer was also named an Award Peer Tutor at Harvard in the area of Statistics. Her high school honors included a National Merit Scholarship, nomination to the Chicago Tribune All-State Academic Team, and graduation as the class valedictorian.
Jennifer's teaching experience consists of preparing students for standardized tests including the SAT Reasoning Test, SAT Subject Tests, the ACT, the GRE, the LSAT, the GMAT, the ISEE, and the SSAT, as well as tutoring various academic subjects, especially math, science, and English. Prior to starting Academic Springboard, she was a director of Advantage Testing and tutored independently and with the Harvard Bureau of Study Counsel. She has also worked as a financial services risk management consultant and a product manager at an enterprise risk management firm.
